Thank you for taking the time to learn who we are, what we do and where we are. 

       Welcome to Violante's, we are a family owned and run Italian Specialty Shop.  We are the orginal Violante's Meat Market that opened its doors back in 1969.  We offer nothing but the highest quality meats, deli cold cuts and homemade catering available.

 Since this is our 50th year in business we would like to tell you where it all began... 

       It was back in 1969, when Aniello Violante Sr. realized his dream come true.  For the first time he was opening his doors on the corner of Hoffman Boulivard and Grove Street in East Orange NJ.  Open 7 days a week he made each customer a part of the family and made sure that each of them had exactly what they wanted on their plates each and every meal.  After 9 years and outgrowing this location, Niel as he was called by everyone knew it was time to move to a larger location to satify the needs of his customers and himself.  The doors once again open at our current location in Bloomfield.  Located just off the corner of the same Grove Street and directly on "the Ave" 1978 was another great milestone.  41 years later we are still cutting the finest quality meats and still serving many who remember our first location.  In 2010 we lost our founder Aniello Sr. and the doors remain open with his wife Theresa and his son running the show.  And a show it is,  at any given time when you walk through the door you will hear a customers name being yelled out, conversation being had and if you are new to the neighborhood or the shop you will be welcomed with friendly serves, big smiles and great food. 

Here are a few things that we do daily to insure that you are purchasing the finest freshest quality products.... 
  • Order with the same supplier for the past 41 years, they are local and can deliever daily if needed 
  • Dates are important, we accept nothing that has a pack date of 14 days or more 
  • Fresh never frozen 
  • We are highly skilled and trained butchers, which means, each and every cut will be exactly what you are asking for 
  • We know our way around the kitchen, so everyone on staff will be able to advise the best way to cook specific cuts 

Adding to the daily grind of business, and the willingness to spread happiness through food... In 2016 Violantes opened our sister company Violante's Catering. From butcher block to stove top our customers get the freshest food prepared for them so they can enjoy their party of event.  

Violante's Meat Market is:    Open            Tuesday - Friday 8am - 6pm
                                                                       Saturday - 8am - 5pm
                                                 Closed           Sunday and Monday

    Graduate of Monmouth University in 2001 with a degree in Biology, Junior couldn't see the door close when Aniello Violante Sr. died in 2010, so he took the bull by the horns so to speak and kept his fathers dream alive.
